Thanks Joe, I have read about everything you have mentioned, but have little knowledge on how to use them. This is what I am trying to accomplish (if its even possible??) I have a web application that is used for searching for products. There are 7 different search fields that can be used. I want to enter a search parameter in one of the fields, and perform the search and then verify that the item was found on the second page. Can I use the 'Send Parameters with request' field in the HTTP Request? If so, how do I tell the app to complete the search? JMeter is completely new to me as of yesterday, so hopefully I'm not asking too stupid of questions. If anyone has a sample test that is similar I could check, that would be great. Thanks "Casadonte, Joe" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Where are you getting the parameters? If they are coming from a file, use the _StringFromFile() function. If they are coming from the output of a previous sampler, then you probably want to use the Regular Expression Extractor Post Processor.
As far as testing, you can either use the Functional Test Mode, or the View Results Tree Listener. My current preference is to use the latter approach. -- Regards, joe Joe Casadonte [EMAIL PROTECTED] 1016 West Ninth Avenue King of Prussia, PA 19406 610-491-9881 > -----Original Message----- > From: Blair Supryka [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Tuesday, May 11, 2004 11:46 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: jmeter searching test plan > > > I am trying to craete a test plan that uses parameters to > complete a search on a web app. How do you do this and how > do you verify that you actually completed the seach, > otherwords, how do you verify the second page was loaded > after the search was completed? > > Any info would be greatly appreciated > > Thanks > > > > > --------------------------------- > Do you Yahoo!? > Win a $20,000 Career Makeover at Yahoo!
