The log functions are described in

http://jakarta.apache.org/jmeter/usermanual/functions.html#__log

and

http://jakarta.apache.org/jmeter/usermanual/functions.html#__logn

The log messages are logged to the JMeter log file.
By default this is jmeter.log in the bin directory.

The Generate Summary Results are saved in the JMeter log file; they
are also written to stdout, which can be saved using OS functions.

As with all log output, different log files can be defined for
different packages or groups of packages - this is described in the
jmeter.properties file.
