Works fine for me:

Main: org.apache.jmeter.NewDriver
Working dir: bin
Classpath: lib/ext/ApacheJMeter_core.jar

Note that JMeter trunk is seriously out of date.
Use rel-2-2 branch instead.

There was already some Eclipse documentation on the Wiki; there may be
some more hints and tips there, or it may all be out of date now.

I normally run JMeter using jmeter.bat instead of trying to run it from
within eclipse.

typically, when i am writing new jmeter components, I'll add a main method
to the class for testing, or I'll write a junit test. that makes it a bit
easier to test each component separately in eclipse.
