cud u let me knw wht kindof application u r workin upon. if u have got the url then thats fine....... u dont have to install any server on ur machine..... it shud have been installed on the server frm which u r accessing the application.
1st add Thread group 2nd any simple controller 3rd under workbech>right click on it>non test element> select Http proxy server 4th give any 4 digit no. in the port....make sure that the port no. u r giving should not be used by any other application. Under target controller select the controller under which u want record the script. save all the configurations u set. 5th now goto IE>tools>internet opitons>connection tab> lan settings>enable proxyserver. In the address field give url of the application and the same port no. that u have given in the Http proxy server of Jmeter. *Mkae sure that Bypass for local address remains unchecked.* ** now goto j meter HTTP Proxy server> Start. and start recording the script.
