Use a different browser(than the one you are currently testing on) and see if you get the same behavior. if it still doesn't work , what is your test plan structure, what options have you specified on your proxy and what version of jmeter? Also check Jmeter logs and just to be sure you have clicked Start button on the proxy (instead of run on JMeter)
