1st try and see how much load your 1 machine can sustain. i ran 250 vu per machine, had 6 machines(same configuration that can sustain a load of 250). then ran from 2 machines simultaneously, keep checking the load, wait till same load hits @ server then ran from next 2 and wait. keep doing this till you achieve what u need.
