I had already this kind of problem with the previous version on a Debian Sid (unstable) and after rotating for some time, the JVM crashed. But this was Debian unstable so I thaught it was "normal". However, it is highly probable that these two bugs are not related but I will investigate more... > 3. the crystal window is often marked available (menu item not grey) when file > does not support crystal data (Fabian) Actually, this issue was already discussed when I sent the crystal patch for the first time. I decided to make the crystal dialog always enabled because a user may want to use a simple XYZ (for example) file containing the unit cell atoms and then add the necessary information to generate the crystal. For example the site http://cst-www.nrl.navy.mil/lattice/ provides XYZ files for a bunch of crystalline structure and crystal information can be read on screen. However, as ShelX is now supported, it may be more logical to transform the XYZ file into a ShelX by incorporating the crystal info.
