Category: Applet Group: v10 >Status: Closed >Resolution: Works For Me Priority: 5 Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Miguel (migueljmol) Summary: Bug in MSJVM, not in Sun JVM Initial Comment: We have come across a sublte bug, only apparent in the MS JVM. Use case: 1. Do the default rendering of a .pdb file in the applet 2. Turn off the wireframe with a script 3. Turn off the spacefill with a script 4. Turn on Trace or Cartoon with the applet popup menu Result: MSJVM show nothing or causes the apple to hang Sun JVM works as expected - Trace or Cartoon is shown. I hope/assume that it was fixed at some point over the last few months. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Miguel (migueljmol) Date: 2004-06-10 12:57 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1050060 This one sounds like it may be difficult to track down. Q: Does anything show up in the java console? Q: Does it occur with *any* .pdb file? You make a distinction between 'scripts' and 'applet popup menu in #2/#3/#4. Q: Can you confirm whether or not the same behavior exists if you turn off wireframe and spacefill using the popup menu? Q: Can you determine whether or not the problem occurs if you use a script to turn on the cartoon? Q: Can you create *very* simple page and put it on a web site where I can get to it. Q: Can you try it on Netscape 4.* Win32? I don't have easy access to a machine with the MSFT JVM, but will find one.
