I always liked the previous naming scheme, where each stable release had a
integer number, which would make this release 11. But I do not care much
about the numbering scheme. Bob's suggestion is in line what we have used
in the last period.

One question... is it planned to have a bug fix series based on 10.1 ?
That is,
10.00 was the stable, followed by 10.00.xx being the development series.
No bug fix releases were made, as far as I know... will we stick to this,
or might it be a good idea to have 10.01.xx for stable releases with
possible bug fixes, and 10.02.xx for the development branch? In which case
I would prefer to use the Linux kernel setup where even numbers indicate
the stable release, and odd the development releases. Which would make the
upcoming stable release 10.02.xx
and the next development series 10.03.xx...

The reason why I ask this is because a lot of websites are using the Jmol
applet now for rather serious purposes... and requiring them to use the
development branch for bug fixes they need, might not be a overly good
idea. On the other hand, it *would* require a bit more labour on our
side... that is, we would need a maintainer of the stable branch, who
decides what bug fixes get applied to the stable branch...
