Yes, I think that would be best. He will either 1. review all commits to the 
branch, and complaint if the patches are too complex to hit the stable 
branch, or 2. follow commits to trunk/ and a) ask the commiter to apply it to 
the branch too, b) apply them himself. He will also make decisions when to 
make new stable releases.

At this moment there are already is a list of fixes that might go into the 
branch:
- r4981: CifReader applying strand mapping to atoms 
but not structures. Issue found with 1pgb.cif not showing
secondary structure is fixed
- r4983: mostly fixes 1bkx.cif problem (needs testing)
