The equivalent for the app, and also possible for the applet, is to write
your callback as a Jmol script function and have the callback set to run
that. No Javascript necessary.

Function myCallback() {
 ....
}


....

set hoverCallback "jmolScript:myCallback"

The main difference is that at least for now, no arguments are passed to the
function when it is done this way. So it may be somewhat less useful.
