I think it is feasible that one copies a few files onto e.g. a USB disk for a 
quick demo, and all files are in the root. 
Then I'd expect that to be functional. Why not?

Certainly no need to have the root explictly in the command, but the file 
itself 
will be in the root. Would it be loaded?
