I have examined pre-release 23 on the site: http://www.cem.msu.edu/~reusch/vtxtindex.htm <http://www.cem.msu.edu/%7Ereusch/vtxtindex.htm>
Since this application does not make use of LiveConnect JavaScript buttons, my observations may be of limited value.
I am a Mac user, and was pleased to find that Jmol worked well in Safari, Netscape 7.2, Mozilla and Firefox under OS 10.3. It was necessary to remove the Java Embedding Plugin out of the "/Library/Internet Plug-Ins" folder leaving the MRJ Plugin JEP in place for the last three browsers to function properly.
On two PCs, one running Windows XP and the other Millennia, Internet Explorer ran Jmol without a hitch, but Netscape 7.1, Mozilla and Firefox did not. The first Jmol display ran fine on these browsers, but thereafter any attempt to call up another display caused the browser to freeze (note that many of the applications display three or more applets on the same page). I am not well-versed in Windows software, so I don't know whether the PCs I used were properly set up with respect to Java applications.
