Miguel,
> I'm trying to visit your announced page. I'm now using Firefox 1.0 underWindow XP. The JmolApplet starts to download automatically (which doesn't seem a good idea to me)
But that is the purpose of an applet ... automatically download and execute :-)
I think that the applet is good enough to put on the front page at www.jmol.org ... If people have problems then I want to know about them.
but never seems to finish.
The applet is rather large ... almost 600K.
At times SourceForge.net has performance problems, but generally works pretty well.
Q: Do you have a high-bandwidth internet connection?
It actually freezes Firefox and occupies most of the CPU, so I had to stop it.
I have not experienced this problem.
I appreciate your wanting to trumpet jmol 10 up front, but probably best to change this in the long run. If a potential user with the wrong browser config connects and the page hangs it's probably a lost user.
(I know the js doesn't work with my two OS9 browsers, but I usually use them to download the binaries from sourceforge. Both hung on the page when I tried, so I had to boot into OSX. No problem for me, but someone else might have given up.)
David
PS I'm at home and wanted to go back into the lab to be one of the first to install the new release, but my wife won't let me, so it will have to wait until Monday, sob, sob.
