Hi Miguel, Thanks for your reply. I downloaded jmol-10.00.12. However the odd behavior continues.
I figured out that the viewer will not appear on my page until some other application window passes over the viewer area, forcing windows to refresh the graphics. The viewer appears as soon as that other window is removed. I am thinking of writing a DHTML script that moves some graphic element of my web page over the viewer -- perhaps this will force the graphics to refresh. Q: Are those instances of IE running the MSFT JVM or the Sun JVM? Q: Are the machines on the LAN or are they running across the internet? Q: How fast/slow are the machines in question? One thought ... I see that you are using the 10.00 release. The prerelease 10.?? versions are using a different class loading mechanism. It means that the applet can get initialized and return control to the browser much sooner. While it was built primarly for Mac OS X browsers, it significantly changes the loading behavior of the applet. I would like for you to try the prerelease 10.?? (whatever is the latest) and see if the behavior changes.
