Hi, I based a really simple web page (see previous post by me here today) on the 'simple demonstration page' at Jmol site (http://jmol.sourceforge.net/demo/jssample0/) and tried to further simplify to have it work offline and online using jmol files in folder instead of dumping a lot of files in a folder where I would already have a lot of files. However, it didn't seem overly simple to implement and the directions/guidance on that page, particularly about getting things to work offline vs. online, are quite confusing, i.e. a lot more technical and less clear than one might expect for a so-called simple example. I don't imagine many educators wanting to set up a simple page to show a molecule or molecules would have much luck unless all the files and paths happened to match exactly that example. Maybe a link to a more helpful page might help? There used to be a simple generator page at the Jmol site that would walk you through making an actual page from scratch?
Where did that go? Just to prove I am not a complete novice here I'll add that have made several pages using Jmol. One featuring, perhaps, the most complex RNA-Protein machine on the planet can be seen at http://people.biochem.umass.edu/sfournier/fournierlab/snornadb/snrs/ribo/1771portal.htm. And with a more simple sturcture at http://www-unix.oit.umass.edu/~wdecatur/p19tutorial/. Thanks, Wayne ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
