Hi, thanks Bob and Angel for your suggestions.
It turns out I had already solved the problem before I
read them though, the solution has to do with Angel's comment
about using jmolScript to load the molecule by a
'user action' (In general this will always be "after"
the applet is started, so no conflicts should arise)
BTW, I make the call to jmolScript("load...") inside another
js file which is included in the principal html page as
<script src="./file.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
and it works.
