also, you might try not loading a model initially, just to see if there
is a conflict there with the two applets loading at the same time.
you might try changing that initialization command to:
jmolInitialize("/references/lib/jmol/", "JmolApplet.jar")
just to see if the twin loading is messing up when the multiple files
are being loaded.
also, upgrade to 11.3.54.
Are the browser crashes on Macs or PCs?
Are the crashes at start up or when a model is loading?
Set your java to automatically display its console so you can see what's
going on during the loading process.
