Jmol Mac Users,

I have stumbled on a curious inconsistent behavior of the Safari
browser, when employing the "generator.document.write" method of
producing a Jmol popup, as contrasted with the "getElementById" method
of adding a Jmol applet to an existing page. The former loads the
applet, which can be seen and manipulated, but any buttons using
JmolAppletControl to change spacefill or other features fail to
execute. The latter display works as scripted in all respects. This
difference in behavior disappears when using Firefox and Opera browsers,
and a Windows platform functions well with Explorer, Firefox and Opera.
A small demonstration file may be viewed at:
http://www.cem.msu.edu/~reusch/VirtTxtJml/tstsamp.htm
<http://www.cem.msu.edu/%7Ereusch/VirtTxtJml/tstsamp.htm>

Two Mac platforms were used to confirm this behavior:
   1. G4 power PC,  OS 10.3.9,  Safari 1.3.2
   2. Intel Core Duo, OS 10.5.2, Safari 3.0.4

Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated

Bill
