Hello Norman That's quite unexpected. The Java installation should take care of everything. I have never seen such problem. Some things to try, as non-privileged user:
* Can you see Jmol applets in web pages? * Can you open another Java application (another .jar file)? * Is this happening only when you double-click on Jmol.jar, or on a molecule file.
