Charles, that's probably a bug, but I guess you can safely remove the
dot asterisk part and get the same result you are expecting
select {[GLY]100:V or [THR]1:2}
# 2 atoms selected
>
> scriptcompiler ERROR: unrecognized expression token: 2.0
> ----
> subset {[GLY]100:V.* or [THR]1:2.*} <<<<
