I brought this subject up as an append in an earlier email chain. I should
have started a new chain, so this is it.

I queried the script behind Jmol's native click/drag translate. Whatever it
is, I now see that it's captured in _navTranslate. I'm still curious about
the script behind this, but my real problem involves translating one
selected molecular fragment and not the other unselected fragment. The
_navTranslate when bound does not allow selected translation.

While translateSelected works as a bound translation script, the translation
is relative to the molecular axis. This can get very confusing for the user.
The nice thing about _navTranslate is that translation is relative to the
window axis. Does the code behind _navTranslate leave any opening for
selected translation?
