I have spent a fruitless afternoon with Java 7 for Windows 7 (latest update
7, Java downloaded directly from the Java.com site) to cooperate with the
latest Jmol 13.0.6 (signed). All that happens is one gets Java class errors.
We have tried both FireFox and Chrome browsers on Windows, with identical
results.

This is needed for a class of 100+ computers and laptops. Previously I had
found that installing Java 7 on OS X removed the ability to run Jmol (and so
I reverted to Java 6) but had felt fairly certain that it would not be a
problem on Windows. My problem is that with Java 6 vulnerabilities, the
powers that be may eventually decide to ban it from campus, leaving us with an
issue.

Does my description of the problems ring any bells with anyone?
