I've been working with JMol version 13.1.9_dev, especially with the
console, for a scripting project. In particular, I've been playing around
with ellipsoids. I found out that there is some weird behaviour on their
part:
1) in versions 13.1.9 and 13.1.8, ellipsoids created with the command
'ellipsoid' won't show even after their AXES are defined. Instead, there
are often glitches like the entire reference axis system shrinking to a
point, and a single dot of the intended color for the ellipsoid showing up
randomly
2) in version 13.0.8, the ellipsoid creation works as it is supposed to,
but it seems impossible to set the color to 'translucent' (the word
translucent won't be accepted - maybe this is just the functionality not
being implemented yet)
3) in all versions above mentioned, when instead of using the ellipsoid
word one uses the isosurface ellipsoid {Ax Ay Az eccentricity} syntax, the
ellipsoid appears, but it seems impossible to change its color to anything
but the default orange.
These are not serious issues, but number 1 at least looks like a bug.
