(Please disregard my previous message of this Subject as it contained an error that led to a misinterpretation. Thanks Angel and Bob for the feedback you gave me.)
The problem is that I cannot measure a distance in FirstGlance in Jmol when I use Jmol 13, but I can when I use Jmol 12.
The anomaly: In Jmol 13, when the pickCallback() function executes a "set picking ident", this causes the third click (the first click on the second atom) to cancel the distance monitor. This does not happen in Jmol 11 or 12.
This is demonstrated in a "simple" web page where you can select the version of Jmol, and a checkbox controls whether "set picking ident" is executed by the pickCallback().

Bob, is this change in Jmol 13 a bug or a feature? Do I need to work around it in my FirstGlance in Jmol code, or can Jmol 13 be made to work like Jmol 12 in this regard?
Thanks!!
Eric
