Bob,
I got it. It was native to JSmol all along.
On an iPad, all I needed was way to have a drag AND a "key" modified drag
binding. The Jmol default for DOUBLE is click-click-drag to translate.
In JSmol, click-click-drag can be bound (bind "DOUBLE") to other drag scripts
that work on an iPad and a desktop with all the drag related _VARIABLES
working. When you do this, click-drag and click-click-drag live happily
together on the same model screen working independently. It's as if that first
click is equivalent to a keyboard modifier. Exactly what I needed on an iPad.
