Chrome 31.0.1650.57 and Safari Version 7.0 (9537.71) on Mac 10.9 also gave 
format error, most probably the same you got.

Simply Javascript on Firefox (Gecko engine) runs under different rules than on 
Chrome/Safari (WebKit engine).
