Bob, I found another new Jmol vs old Jmol alert error message (versions per previous email). Try
Jmol.evaluateVar(jmolApplet0, "'hexane'.find('SMILES','CCC') > 0”) on test2.htm. I know. I know. Who would do that? In this case, it was an instructor (me) error in an answer key array on a web textbook quiz. My point here is that the earlier Jmol does not throw alerts on this kind of thing, while the new Jmol does. The error (see test2.htm) in this case is, I think, unrelated to “use strict.” I’ve tried to change debug reporting but that does not seem to help.
