Eric Martz should try this. Also, Eric, I would recommend taking a look at
your network performance stats in general while loading FirstGlance. There
is a huge overhead there for having to download so many many little js
files. I count no fewer that 40 mostly tiny .js files that the user is
forced to download before JSmol starts, and each of those is 200-300 ms. So
that's something like 10 seconds just for those. Have you tried
contatenating those? Compressing them? Sure works for me!
