Description:
The minimum core competencies required for this position are:
· Senior Level COGNOS Developer for report development
· COGNOS SERIES 7.x
· Support of Development of a Report Template Library
· Minimum of 4-6 years of Report Development experience
· Ability to transform functional requirements into reports
· Knowledge of data and data manipulation techniques
· Ability to create reports which are reusable across multiple disciplines
· Solid Interpersonal Skills
· Public sector experience highly desired. Education (K-12) experience
Highly Desired:
· Database Modeling Experience
· COGNOS REPORTNET
· COGNOS METRICS MANAGER
· COGNOS Version upgrade experience
· COGNOS Script development for automation
· COGNOS Installation and Configuration experience
· SQL SERVER development and DTS experience
· DATASTAGE ETL experience
· Relational/Star Schema modeling and design
· Web Services (COGNOS Web Services, HTML, XML, etc.)
· Team Leadership Skills
· Tactical and Strategic Thinker and Doer
· Participation in requirement meetings with end-users to understand and collect Business Intelligence (BI) report and Web content needs.
· Document these requirements, resolve ambiguities and conflicts, gather consensus.
· Prepare conceptual, logical and physical design documents.
· Collaborate with other groups to design and develop new enterprise reporting solutions.
· Develop BI reports to serve the end-users.
· Tune the supporting queries and report build processes to improve end-user access response times.
· Design, document and deploy the front-end components of analytical applications.
· Work with the Information Delivery team to provide training and support.
· Assist in the rollout, maintenance and ongoing administration of these applications.
Also, required will be the generation of reports, creating interim databases for reporting purposes; validate accuracy of generated report to reliable source data including variance to prior data; provide documentation of generated reports; provide expertise and assistance to other departments in extracting data and creating reports, and peer review reports created by other developers and provide feedback.
