Position: Data Modeler Location: Memphis, TN Duration: 11 months (possibly extended)
Responsibilities: Gather and document requirements and metadata -translate those requirements into normalized data tables and data elements named according to corporate standards Work with DBAs to produce physical table designs Analyze data contents for incoming source files and support business analysts in produce validation/transformation rules Analyze data sources and support business analysts in define transformation rules to populate target tables in data warehouse Identify and support business analysts in document business rules for data validation Must have experience with relational data modeling and Erwin/PowerDesigner in order to be considered as a viable candidate. Provide .pdf versions logical and physical data models for documentation using the DM tool Be able to reverse engineer any physical data models from Teradata Requirements: Client is in need of somebody that has both strong logical and physical modeling. Client uses Ab Initio to put data into Teradata and Business Objects to report out of that environment. This position will require a strong knowledge of dimensional modeling and a strong personality that can work autonomously. *6-8 Years of experience in Relational and Dimensional data modeling. * Must be able to do both logical and physical data modeling. Must have experience with PowerDesigner or similar modeling tool (ErWin). Must have significant experience with large-scale data warehouses and both development of stand-alone data structures and integration of new data sources into existing framework. Should have experience with large organization, and experience utilizing formalized project development lifecycle.
