Location: MI
We are looking for a Data warehouse Architect with excellent data Modeling
skills for a long term position.
Responsibilities:
--The DW architect has primary administrative responsibility for the logical
and physical design of the warehouse environment
--The data architect's strength lies in his or her ability to develop the
vision of the logical / physical view of the warehouse and to mentor others
on best practices for DW data structures.
--Creates and maintains the DW conceptual (or logical) model based on the
business rules captured from the business requirement gathering sessions
--Creates the first cut physical model and participates in the modifications
to it as the project moves through the design and development phases.
-- Ensure all models are consistent with the Enterprise data
Models, naming standards, etc.
-- Update DW conceptual model as needed (additional subject areas
/ entities / attributes)
-- Update physical model as needed
--Leads ETL team and provide ETL architectural advice to team
--Participates in design, source-to-target mapping, meta data creation,
review, and testing skills.
--Provides business project support by ensuring project teams (multiple
vendors) have the necessary documentation, policies, rules, etc to be able
to create DW solutions that align to corporate direction.
--Reviews project documentation to ensure proposed DW solutions are
architected correctly and align properly to corporate standards.
--Anticipate and resolve data definition and integration issues for
cross-functional groups
-- Facilitate meetings and work closely with users to understand data
requirements. Act as a data steward when needed.
-- Demonstrate strong knowledge of industry or functional specialty as it
pertains to data quality and integrity
-- Integrate models and ensure data rules and definitions are consistent
across various departments for shareability and reuseability
-- Develop BI business procedures and data management policies to ensure
data accuracy and control
Required:
-- 7+ years experience with data warehousing environments and the
development of DW architecture
--Performance tuning experience in Oracle data warehousing environments.
--Firm understanding of data base security concepts and rules.
--Experience with Oracle 10g, & Informatica.
--Must be able to work on multiple complex projects, meet deadlines, and
deal with conflicting priorities.
-- 10+ years total experience
-- Business Objects knowledge desired.
--Excellent communication skills
