This position is the primary interface with the IP Cable NOC's for all IP Cable Network and ISP Platform outages. The SSC Event Manager is responsible for providing 24x7 network operations support for IP Cable Companies Regional Network Devices, AT&T's IP Network Access Devices on the AT&T Common Backbone, and ISP Platforms. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, remote monitoring, troubleshooting, fault identification and management, performance reporting, real-time performance tuning, maintenance of IP networking Cisco, UNIX servers, operating systems, and applications to maintain 99.9+% uptime in an active production environment. This position must quickly respond to, troubleshoot, and isolate complex, potentially service impacting conditions. This position partners with the Tier 3 and 4 Technical Support Groups internally and externally to manage services and troubleshoot system problems. This position must manage multiple simultaneous troubles and escalations to all levels internally and externally. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager and quite often works independently as well as a member of a larger team. This position works all shifts, weekends, and holidays. This position is located in Bridgeton, Missouri.
Job Description:
Responsible for providing 24 x 7 demand maintenance support for IP Cable Regional Network and IP Cable Access Devices on the Common Backbone and AT&T's ISP Services Platforms. This position will be required to notify the IP Cable NOC within 10 minutes of identifying a service impacting condition. The position will be required to identify and troubleshoot complex issues. This position is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving single customer troubles that are due to network or application issues. Event Managers troubleshoot IP Cable Abuse issues, Multiple and Single Customer Issues. The Event Managers ensure that both AT&T and the supported Customer's upper management are updated with real time information during major outages while handling associated escalations. This position does not work directly with end user customers; it works with the different levels of Tier technical teams within the customer facing organizations - NOC to NOC interface. This position is required to partner with internal Technical Support Groups, i.e AT&T IISS Abuse Team / AT&T Labs, to determine root cause information and document such.
