The ETL Developer role will help with developing the foundational technical
architecture support for deploying a new Informatica environment in
Informatica 8.3. This individual will have responsibility to install
Informatica software on Linux server and set-up repositories, roles, and
privileges for multiple CME Group teams to use the environment. Person will
be familiar with best practices for installation and architecture.
*Responsibilities:*
Integration Tasks
- Develop process to move Informatica packages from Dev to QA and
Production.
Standards Development
- Document Create Best Practices document for transformation usage
- Document best practices for tool usage strategy comparing Java, PL/SQL vs.
Informatica
- Document Create ETL Standards
Naming Conventions
Map Design Standards
Metadata Management Standards
Best practices for handling slowly changing dimensions
Infrastructure/Production Support Tasks
- Develop restart recovery processes and procedures
- Document Repository Setup and usage Standards and Mapping Standards
- Develop code migration standards and procedures
- Support Environment Migrations
- Document Security Architecture
Development Support Task
- Develop Shared components
- Develop Batch control processes
- Design/Develop Shared Error/exception/reject management handling
- Design and Develop shared mapplets for time, input/batch control, load
processes
Skill sets required:
- 4+ Years developing Informatica solutions in a Unix/Linux environment
including installation, set-up and administration
- Experience with high volume datasets from various sources (Cobol, Text
Files, XML, Relational)
- Experience in developing and documenting environment setup processes,
procedures and shared components
- Experience supporting multi-team environments
- Experience with general scheduling tools such as UC4
