Agency Experience is a must.* Minimum 7 year experience is required. *Data Architect Lead Specialist III* SCOPE OF SERVICES In July, 2007 the City Council passed and the Mayor signed Local Law Int 586 - A designed to reduce the contributions to political campaigns of entities that do business with the City of New York. The practice of businesses providing large campaign donations to candidates is known as pay-to-play . The legislation mandates that the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications (DoITT) create a consolidated database for tracking information related to eight entities types managed by multiple city agencies and provide this data to the Campaign Finance Board (CFB) in real time. DoITT plans to deliver the functionality required to comply with this law in four phases. Phases One -Three have already been completed. Phase Four will utilize DataShare s Service Oriented Architecture to map data from federated agencies /offices data sources and then display it in a format that will be viewable to the public via the comprehensive Doing Business Search on NYC.gov. Additional rules and processes underlying what has been implemented in Phases One, Two, and Three will also need to be further developed to better streamline the consumption and accurate aggregation of the Doing Business data as well as respond to changing interpretations of the law. *Responsibilities:* The Data Architect (DA) will be responsible for designing and developing data architectures for the Doing Business with New York City Searchable Database application. Responsibilities will include ensuring that the data architecture is optimized for the most efficient and effective use for multiple systems. The DA will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and documenting standards and data architecture; also, the DA will participate in gathering requirements and translating them into robust data models. The DA will work closely with the Application Architect, Technical Lead, and Project Management to identify technical approaches for systems as well as determine timelines for implementation. The DA will Ensures that the data architecture is optimized for the most efficient and effective use for multiple systems.
