Details: · Start Date - Immediate · Location - Dallas TX · Rate - Open · Duration - 11 Months Description: To perform NBSS 16 upgrade. The successful candidate will have NBSS upgrade experience. As a member of this team, the individual will be called upon to travel to sites and perform the duties outlined in the service scope of work. This scope of work may vary widely depending on the customer's needs and requirements, but should encompass many of the following areas: CDMA NBSS SPECIALIST IV This position is for experienced lead technicians that will be assigned to lead and train customer technicians on the Nortel CDMA product; this is an advanced position. This individual will be required to provide operational assistance and guidance for Nortel CDMA NBSS technicians. The work to be performed will include operation, troubleshooting, routine maintenance and structured knowledge transfers. This is a position that will lead technical troubleshooting in all areas of the product and provide a supervisory assistance to ensure customer expectations are met. This individual should be well-versed in many aspects of central office management, including the operation of transmission facilities and use of tools that facilitate troubleshooting. Skills and characteristics should include: • A minimum of 5 years experience on a Nortel CDMA system and 2 years of experience with the Nortel CDMA NBSS. • Strong CDMA NBSS product knowledge, with experience in routine maintenance and troubleshooting in several of the following areas: Legacy BSC, CBRS, BTS Metro Cell, FRM/MFRM/MFRM2, SBS ESEL troubleshooting, 1XRTT and EVDO. • Well-versed in the software loading procedures for all sub-systems, and possessing knowledge of upgrade and patching processes. • Above-average skills in management of the BSSM (C-EMS is a plus) including lip file registration, routine BSSM maintenance, UNIX system administration, and CFDS administration, including site file generation and datafilling. • Knowledge of the Passport-based product area is a plus. • Comfortable assisting with on-the-job training of customer staff • Possesses effective verbal communication skills for facilitating a training environment, with the ability to formally evaluate customer staff skill levels. • Excellent Customer Service skills • Self-motivated with the initiative to identify target areas for starting work and then apply problem-solving skills to drive issues to resolution. • Strong work ethic and knowledge of standard engagement practices. • Proven problem-solving skills for both product technical and customer discretionary problems. 100 % traveling required.
