*Locations: **ALPHARETTA**, GA / **LAKE MARY**, FL / MIDDLETOWN, NJ*** *Duration: 3+ Months*** *Description:* The position requires a very strong technical professional specializing in network technologies, performance tuning, packet decode and analysis. The position is part of the ICDS Tier III Performance Management team responsible for managing complex performance issues including problem escalations, performance tuning and elements of capacity planning. The candidate as part of the Tier III team also has responsibility for providing detailed design concepts in response to operational deficiencies, client satisfaction results and system reliability. This position directly interfaces with external clients and is highly visible. This position is responsible for managing complex problem escalation, interfacing with customers, vendors and developers, performance tuning, and development of ad-hoc tools to aid in identifying trends and isolating problems during times of critical need. Candidate must have initiative and be a self starter. Will be required to do proactive performance management including the review of trends and the ability to spot exceptions with the core knowledge to identify deficiencies and develop and implement a fix. Candidate must also be abreast of industry best practices for tools and network management utilities. *At least 5 of the following skills and disciplines are required:* Advanced knowledge of the TCP Protocol including windowing and congestion control and its applicability to protocol performance. Scripting ability. Advanced knowledge of various Media Streaming applications, buffering techniques, UDP protocol and an understanding of how the underlying network impacts performance. Experience with Packet Capture utilities/applications (e.g. TCP Dump, Network General, Fluke etc) and applied knowledge and experience in analyzing Packet Decodes and Traffic Flows. In depth knowledge of ISPs and their routing protocols including BGP and OSPF. Peering arrangements. In depth knowledge of BGP attributes and their impact on routing policies. Advanced knowledge and experience in server architecture and application performance and the system design elements that directly impact server and application performance such as connection rate, buffers, memory management etc. Advanced knowledge of key principles of Mathematics that influence network performance including packet, window, buffer sizes, distance, latency, etc, with a solid understanding of statistical models. Advanced knowledge and experience in the use of NetFlow or similar tools in analyzing Traffic Flows. Advanced configuration and troubleshooting of network load balancing systems (Cisco, Alteon/Nortel, Foundry) A minimum of 5 to 8 years experience in multiple areas of technology is required. This position requires a broad skill set across networking, systems and security. The ideal candidate would have several of the following CCIE certification Background as a technology consultant Experience as a solutions architect or integrator Experience in Network and Systems Performance Strong Leader and Troubleshooter *REQUIRED EDUCATION:* 7 years IT or Computer Science Degree or equivalent technical certification or experience.
