Skills: This Application Remediation to WebSphere and Oracle Technologies (ARWOT) program is a collection of 5 subprojects, which are managed and coordinated together under an overarching program, to remediate and align several legacy applications from unsupported technologies into current supported technologies (Portal / Tivoli / WebSphere / Oracle). The program is requesting services of a senior database developer with strong communication skills, design, development, user support experience, knowledge of Oracle and/or Sybase, who is able to manage multiple tasks in concurrence with the ARWOT project team so that adherence to both the technical database standards, security standards and project technical documentation standards are met for all remediated databases, user interfaces, stored procedures, PERL scripts and other software component deliverables. The database developer (DBD) will report to the ARWOT Project Manager or their designee, for all project and/or production support assistance assignments and will be responsible for the following services including, but are not limited to: A. Work as DBD within the ARWOT project team to analyze, design, code, test, schedule and deploy, debug and/or validate all vendor submitted software component deliverables (i.e. UNIX scripts, PERL scripts, SQL, stored procedures, data dictionaries, data models, etc.) by employing both design/development/testing skills and performing quality reviews of all vendor submitted document deliverables. B. Design, develop and deploy databases and schemas related to this program/project. C. Interface with Team for Texas and other migration groups to ensure a continuity of batch runs, data loads, data synchs and/or communicate changes to databases to maintain an integrated migration strategy. D. Production Support assistance for batch, scripts or database issues, at the assignment or tasking of the PM of ARWOT, ensuring ARWOT priorities are maintained as primary. E. Maintain configuration management (versioning, archive etc) over all software component deliverables. F. Other duties as assigned. The worker must be a self-motivated professional with a strong background in web-based application development, Systems Design, Systems Analysis, including technical leadership. II. WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Requirements: Years Skills/Experience 10 Experience in database design and development involving Oracle and/or Sybase technologies. 7 Extensive experience designing packages, procedures and triggers in an Oracle and Sybase environment. 7 Experience with PL/SQL programming in Oracle. 5 Experience in designing, developing, and deploying enterprise Database architectures on an Oracle platform. 5 SQL programming experience. Knowledge of JDBC/ODBC interactions with relational databases. 5 Strong ability to create, design, troubleshoot, read, understand and debug and optimize Oracle/Sybase based stored procedures and advanced PERL scripts (hash/joins). 5 Experience in a user or customer interface support role involving multi-tasking responsibilities. 4 Solid experience with data migration scripts and loads, data transformation, data integrity processes. 4 Data modeling & data dictionary creation and generation experience with tools like ERWin, PowerDesigner, Together J, Rationale Suite or other related software tools. 3 Experience in Unix scripting and advanced PERL scripting for Oracle/Sybase databases. 3 Experience in analyzing, designing and implementing the conversion of existing legacy databases (Sybase, COBOL) to Oracle database environments. 3 Experience on projects involving creation and performance of rigorous test scenarios, data validation and/or other quality assurance activities on databases and data loads. 3 Experience in projects involving responsibilities to create and update SDLC technical architecture documentation, design documentation, test plans, test cases, and production turnover documentation. 1 Experience with Visio or an equivalent process modeling tool. Strong Excellent technical leadership skills. Strong Good oral and written communication skills.
