CIGNA – Connecticut General Life Insurance Company is one of the largest
healthcare providers in the United States, providing managed medical, dental
care products, group indemnity health insurance and related services. *
PROCLAIM* is an Electronic Claim Processing System for CIGNA's *Preferred
Provider Organization* (PPO) and Indemnity products. PROCLAIM facilitates
employee benefit validation, control of the claim adjudication process and
payment from *EDI* (Electronic Data Interchange) to finalizing claim. The
system provides on-line handling of plan, eligibility information, claims
history, automatic adjudication, inquiry, automatic correspondence and
reports of benefit explanations and payments.

External Claim Pricing Program (ECPP). The purpose of the project is
to eliminate
existing processing errors and manual workarounds, with scalable automated
solutions that enable increased external claim pricing volumes and
associated savings – in other words ability to apply the price returned from
the vendor without claim processor intervention and avoid the double touch
that currently results due to edits and errors.

*Responsibilities:*

·            Extensively gathered requirements by facilitating meetings with
SMEs from different Business Partners including third party vendors, to
understand the *Business Processes flows* and derived requirements for
proposed enhancements and documented according to *RUP* specifications and
adhering to *UML* standards.
