*Briefly describe the duties and responsibilities *

·         *To provide senior level Tier 3 technical support for the
Enterprise Storage Team. *

·         *Deals with the critical projects and ensures reliable operation
of the production and development storage environments. *

·         *This position will be supporting the Distributed storage
environment. *

·         *The Distributed environment consists of hundreds of Unix &
Windows servers, EMC Storage Frames and IBM/SUN Tape backup infrastructure
connected through a CISCO SAN. *

·         *The data is locally and remotely replicated to multiple sites. *

·         *This advanced capability is facilitated through a complex
integration of EMC technology. *

*Describe the specialized knowledge, experience, and technical skills that
must be applied to meet the position's responsibilities.   *

The Scope for this position is the storage administration, which includes
the installation, configuration and maintenance of Client’s Enterprise
Server EMC storage technologies. The primary focus will be the EMC DMX
platforms and the further advancement of both the local provisioning and
maintaining Business Continuance processes.

The candidate must be able to: *

·         *Independently recognize, troubleshoot, and resolve storage
situations between the distributed hosts and EMC DASD subsystems, including
their local and/or remote target. *

·         *Provide Tier3 technical infrastructure support services for
issues elevated from the Support Center and other Technical Services groups.
*

·         *Identify end of service life, ETA and microcode alerts, software
and hardware upgrades/refresh requirements for the Distributed DASD
environment. *

·         *Work with Both the UNIX and Windows Tech Services teams to
install, test, and migrate software and/or hardware changes. *

·         *Demonstrate a solid working knowledge of the DWDM and network
interconnectivity and protocol across sites. *

·         *Provide technical support and build professional relationships
among peers and support teams.   *

·         *Must be able to establish and follow documented
standards/procedures. *

·         *Must be able to perform technical peer reviews for the
implementation and planned changes to be performed *

·         *Must be able to follow detailed instructions and display
excellent written and oral communications skills *

·         *Must be able to display the highest level of analytical and
problem solving skills. *

·         *Follow all Client's policies and procedures technical and ethics.
*

·         *Demonstrate flexibility with the work schedule. Many changes are
implemented and executed off shift as well as weekends. *

·         *Participate in On Call support on a rotating schedule. *

Skill/Experience: *

·         *Eight years experience in this technical specialty with
supporting hardware/software configuration expertise, and troubleshooting
experience. *

·         * The position requires extensive EMC DASD and distributed
UNIX/Windows expertise, as well as detailed knowledge of data center
infrastructure. *

·         *Migration expertise from legacy arrays and their hosts onto newer
technology utilizing concurrent replication techniques while maintaining
service levels, availability, and strict adherence to change control. *

·         *Expert knowledge and understanding of EMC DASD and Distributed
UNIX/Windows performance characteristics and interrelationships. *

·         *Working knowledge of the SAN connectivity between the storage and
Distributed host. *

·         *Expert knowledge of the EMC high end technology product line
(SRDF, Time Finder, Optimizer, ECC, ,etc) *

o        *Familiarization of Open Edition agent deployment and maintenance *

o        *Expert knowledge of Symcli commands in addition to GUI interface *

o        *Familiarization of EMC Storagescope and WLA *

o        *Working knowledge of Veritas volume manager/filesystem *

o        *Familiarization with storage cluster configurations (Vmware,  RAC,
SunCluster, etc) *

o        *A comprehensive understanding of the Business Continuity strategy
to further reduce and automate current process. *

o        *Understanding and expertise in capacity management fundamentals.*
