Position: GIS Project Manager

Short Description:
Senior Consultant is responsible for evaluating existing systems and/or new
user needs for the enterprise spatial data operations, data governance, and
data related service offerings
Complete Description:
Fulfillment of geospatial service catalog offerings, development of solution
proposals and tracking of service delivery schedules in order to meet/exceed
customer commitments
Manages and coordinates the spatial data architecture. Work involves
coordinating with agency spatial data stewards, creation of processes,
workflow diagrams, step-by-step user guides for agency data stewards to
update/maintain their own data located in the staging/production
environments, resolution of spatial data issues
Leads and fulfills data governance action items
Data structure changes impacting enterprise web applications
Maintenance of spatial data dictionary to communicate spatial data holdings
Development of data sharing agreements
Development of monthly statistics for the geospatial service offerings and
monthly reporting to the CTO Dashboard
Management of enterprise contracts, renewals and product deliverables
Project management of the State GIS Clearinghouse
Weekly tracking and monitoring of GTO/ESF projects (i.e. data infrastructure
upgrade), requests and action items, signoffs, and facilitation with ESRI
for help desk support
Other geospatial operations supported by this position include change
management and standard operating procedures
Description of Skill Sets:
8-11 years experience in project management
5 years experience in business process engineering/reengineering
Manages enterprise and multi-agency geospatial projects, setting up
appropriate controls, and actively managing risks
Management of multiple enterprise geospatial contracts, budget and scope
Tracking project and activity progress, tracking costs against projected
spending plans, project team management, assigning high level tasks,
reviewing deliverables for quality, and the final project management
evaluation review process
Process definition, creation of workflow diagrams, and engagement in ongoing
process improvements
8-11 years of experience working with spatial data and ArcGIS desktop tools
Ability to work collaboratively with disparate data owners and diverse teams
Knowledge of ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server, ArcIMS, and ESRI Crystal Reports
Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
