*Title: Network Engineer* *Location: Jacksonville FL* *Duration: One Year* Problems are varied and range from simple to complex. Resolution is both reactive and proactive; typically requires significant research and analysis. Incumbent handles non-routine issues by following standards or precedent. Work customarily and regularly (50% of time or more) requires the exercise of discretion and independent judgment. Normally receives general instructions on non-routine work assignments. Requires additional instructions and frequent guidance on more complex or new assignments. Decisions are made independently. Assigned multiple tasks or projects are generally reviewed after completion. Contact is typically coordinative in nature and involves exchanging detailed technical information. May deal with both internal and external contacts. Demonstrates working level of knowledge in job-related functional area and of the business. Functional Responsibilities: This position is located on customer site at the CSX Railroad Data Center in Jacksonville FL. Responsible for Network Management support of complex and diverse networks. Identifies major malfunctions within the managed networks, utilizes technical experience to isolate problems while coordinating with all organizations involved for restoring customer services. Implements complex solutions by configuring routers, switches, and other systems installed on the network. Provides technical reports to management as required. Minimum Qualifications: The position demands a high level of attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, strong communications skills (written and oral) and strong technical documentation skills. Should be experienced in trouble shooting and providing technical support on CISCO network routers and switches, TCP/IP protocols, digital/analogue circuits, SNA devices, VOIP, wireless access points and other communications technologies implemented in the networks. Should be familiar with the use of PC's, email, MS Office Suite, Visio and other software that may be required in the performance of duties. Additional Qualifications: Cisco certifications CCNA and/or CCNP a plus Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Information technology or 5 years of equivalent experience is preferred.
