Interesting... I mostly read technical resumes and to tell you the truth, I
could care less about length and/or type size as long as the information is
relevant. I do agree that the first page has to have specific relevance to
the job you are applying for. Tell me in a quick table if necessary how our
needs (as outlined in the job spec) are matched by your _recent_ experience.
A synopsis that includes every technology you've ever touched is not going
to fly but neither is bending your actual knowledge/experience to fit our
needs.

I would suggest not putting this information into a cover page. Cover pages
have a tendency to get dislocated from the resume. Make the resume count.
