POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position:       Software Engineer
Organization:   LaserCraft, Inc.
Reports to:     Forrest Robinson

Position Summary:

The candidate for this position is will be a member of the LaserCraft OnLine
Violation team.  Primary responsibilities will include software design in
automatic traffic safety.  Assignments may include additional development
tasks outside of these areas including custom engineering engagements or
other product development. C++, .NET, Cold Fusion, Machine Vision, Win32
SDK, MFC, multithreading programming skills, data management and basic image
processing knowledge are key skills required.  Responsibilities at these
levels include engineering documentation and organization, program creation
and release, released program support and design review participation.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of this position are as follows:

·       Contribute in the development of new application, enhancement and
modification of existing applications.
·       2+ years of experience in Cold Fusion MX including CF modules, CF
components and CF user defined functions.
·       Strong knowledge of application architecture including security, error
handling, transaction control.
·       Good experience on SQL Server 2000 with Stored Procedures, Triggers, and
user defined function using    Transaction SQL Statements.
·       Solid experience on Web application development skills including
HTML/XHTML/DHTML/Java Script and custom tags.
·       Provide leadership to the software design team to develop innovative
automatic traffic safety solutions and scientific instrumentation products.
This activity includes creating new and innovative products per program
requirements (technical, cost, schedule).
·       Develop a working relationship with product management to actively
participate in customer requests and provide solutions to the customer’s
issues or requests.
·       Look for innovative ways to improve the development cycle time.  This
responsibility includes managing other subcontractor activities.
·       Network across all department boundaries inside and outside of 
LaserCraft
to ensure all product obstacles are overcome.
·       Responsible for being able to be the software engineering focal point of
the design team.
·       Provide continuation engineering support to solve production and 
customer
issues as they arise.


Skill, Experience & Educational Requirements:

The ideal candidate for this position has:

·       BSCS or related field with 3+ years of experience in commercial product
development.
·       Extensive knowledge and working skills with MS Visual Studio Development
Environment.  Proven track record of developing component level designs and
good design teams experience.
·       Ability to work within design team of engineers to create new and
innovative products for automatic traffic safety solutions and scientific
instrumentation applications.
·       Experience with Commercial Camera SDKs is a plus
·       Practical knowledge of release documentation and Operations support.
