We are currently seeking a Senior PHP Developer to work on the web tier of our
Last Minute Deals sites. The sites are powered by PHP interfacing with other
applications written in Java and Tcl using a service-oriented architecture,
backed by Oracle and MySQL databases.
The successful candidate will have excellent PHP skills using OOP, preferably
in PHP 5. Experience as a web scripting language alone is not sufficient - you
must have used PHP for application development, preferably along with MySQL.
You should be familiar with Web Services, RDBMS design, Unit testing and
collaborative development. Knowledge of AJAX, Java, JSP, Oracle and Tcl is a
plus.
The ability to work quickly from conversations and loose specs is required. You
should be security minded, have a strong attention to detail and comfortable
working under strict time-constraints with little hand-holding. You should
write code that is fast, portable and is well-documented.
