Junior Network Admin / Tech Support
Stylesight provides our clients, who are involved in the fashion and
design industries, with useful and inspirational tools, to make the
creative process of design and product development more efficient,
less costly, current. We seek the most effective content for this
challenge and combine that content with the latest technology.
We are looking for a new network administrator to join us at our
Greenwich Village office. Eligible candidates must meet the
following requirements:
- 1+ year(s) experience in LAN administration, including
configuration of routers, switches, and VPN
- Should be comfortable with:
- Servers: Mac OS X Server, Linux servers, and/or Windows 2000-3
Server
- Computers: Mac OS X (Intel and PowerPC), Windows XP/Vista
- Basic hardware maintenance skills - Memory / Hard drive
installation, basic troubleshooting
- Basic understanding of open source web/db servers and related
technology - Apache 1/2, Lighttpd, PHP 4/5, MySQL 4/5
- Familiarity with at least some of the following software:
- Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat)
- Flash / Dreamweaver
- Web Browsers (IE/Firefox/Safari)
- Applescript / Automater
- MS Office (Word/Excel**/Powerpoint/Entourage)
- Understanding of storage technologies (RAID, tape backup, network
file services)
- Comfortable with open source technologies and their implementation
Desired, but not required skills include:
- Experience with Cisco hardware / Cisco VPN
- Any experience with Mac OS X network administration
- Knowledge of Active/Open Directory (LDAP/Kerberos), FTP, Jabber,
and other basic network services
- Prior experience with VOIP, in particular Linksys and Cisco phones
- Experience with shell scripting
This position involves basic maintenance and support of the company's
internal network in NY, connectivity to personnel located in
satellite offices, and tech support internal to the company. This
person will be responsible for establishing and maintaining an
effective system for tracking and resolution of the company's various
tech support issues. Successful candidates should be professional,
detail-oriented and responsive. Salary commensurate with experience,
