Ubersmith is seeking experienced software developers to join our existing team in extending and supporting our line of products.
In this capacity you will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of our development process from planning new features through implementing and supporting solutions for the challenges faced by our clients. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of professional experience developing web-based software, and experience in the web hosting industry is a plus. However, if you don't have quite that much job experience but are confident you meet the desired skills below please go ahead and submit your resume. Responsibilities: * Extend and maintain existing software products within a team environment. * Work to find new ways that Ubersmith can support the needs of the industry. * Take pride in writing clean and efficient code. * Keep updated on product and industry knowledge. Requirements: * Solid verbal and written communication skills. * Strong background in PHP4/5 development, experience with both object oriented and procedural programming desired. * Strong SQL & relational database skills, experience with MySQL desired. * Solid HTML/CSS design skills, including experience with semantic markup and css-driven designs. * Basic JavaScript/Ajax experience. * A working *nix sysadmin knowledge. Desirable Skills: * Expertise in developing highly-available and scalable web-based software. * Knowledge of billing systems, server/network monitoring & the web hosting industry. * Experience configuring and maintaining AMP-based systems. * Experience with Subversion or CVS. * Experience with other programming languages.
