GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
We are currently seeking someone for a 9 month consulting position to work in
our CT office. This consultant will design and develop web based as well as
client-server applications; should be comfortable with front-end and strong
with back-end; should be able to do hands-on development as well as high level
design; needs to interact with multiple development groups and cross-functional
departments during the course of a project; will be responsible for estimating,
creating and meeting the timeline for development of features; possess good
insight into design patterns and designing applications using OOPS and Service
Oriented Architectures; should have excellent written and oral communication
skills.The plan is to set up a middle layer between the License Client and
License Server that will be generic enough to serve the system-wide Client
Applications implemented in different languages.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Accountabilities with Expected Results:
· Clarify requirements and specifications for features.
· Follow existing design but seek opportunities for improvements.
· Lead and implement technical aspects of feature development.
· Give guidance to off-shore developers
· Keep abreast of new technology and products.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience/Skills/Requirements:
· 5-10 years of experience in the field with a Bachelor's Degree or
equivalent combinations of advanced degrees and experience required
· C++ and Java working experience in Linux/UNIX environment required
· PHP experience required
· Strong knowledge of scripting required
· Working experience with relational database (preferably MySQL or
Informix) required
· Advanced user experience in Linux and Solaris required
· Knowledge of Web and Application security required
· FLEX experience highly recommended
· Experience with configuring web servers (Apache or Tomcat) highly
recommended
· Experience with the management of offshore development recommended
· In-depth knowledge of usage and configuration of an LDAP database
(Novell eDirectory or OpenLDAP) recommended
· PPP experience is a big plus
Industry Certifications: Solaris Certification, Linux Certification, Cisco
Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer
(MCSE) Windows 2000 or 2003 are a plus.
