We are an exciting startup within a large media company. We are looking for a smart go-getter to join our PHP/MySQL development team and help build and plan out features, contribute ideas, and help shape the architecture and infrastructure to meet the high traffic demands. Our only objectives are to grow the site and have fun!
The ideal candidate is someone with a passion for emerging web technologies, great user experience, and someone who can come up with creative ideas/solutions to technical issues, and the evolution of the product’s features and user experience. Must be a self-starter who enjoys creating entertaining and functional user interfaces, and has a passion for solving, or expanding their technical skill set to solve performance bottlenecks in a high-traffic LAMP environment. This is an opportunity to work with a group of great folks with an entrepreneurial energy but with the backing, support and security of a huge international firm. Responsibilities: • Design and develop using PHP, MySQL & JavaScript to fulfill technical and functional requirements • Participate in general The Frisky activities including idea generation, and concept screening Requirements: • Experience with developing and designing large websites build with PHP, and MySQL • Working knowledge of SVN, Linux, and PHP Content Management Systems. • Solid understanding of PHP, resources and community, and experience developing custom CMS modules a plus • Extensive knowledge of HTML, CSS, AJAX techniques and modern JavaScript libraries such as jQuery • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal • Good understanding in SEO and analytics tools a plus. • Willingness to tackle unfamiliar problems and take the time to discover "best practice" solutions Expression Engine experience, and front-end or back-end performance optimization experience a BIG plus.
