Web Engineer - WordPress/php Apartment Therapy is looking for another well-rounded web engineer to join our team. If you love working on a small team, are comfortable at any layer of the web app stack, and eager to serve a large and growing audience, we'd love to hear from you.
At Apartment Therapy we help people make their homes more beautiful, organized and healthy by connecting them to a wealth of resources, ideas and community online. With an audience of over 5 million unique visitors and over 35 million page views per month, our bootstrapped business is growing rapidly. We need another pair of hands to continue improving our sites and tools for our readers, our writers and our advertisers. Specifically, we're looking for an experienced php/WordPress developer to work with our CTO and a pro WordPress consultant (or two) to migrate our legacy publishing platform to WordPress and implement a site rebrand/redesign/reorganization. We're looking for someone with: * Strong php chops * Experience developing WordPress plugins & themes * Experience writing code for high traffic sites * Experience with a variety of third party APIs * Mastery of basic html/css Bonus points for: * ruby * javascript/jquery * experience managing linux servers in production Our existing team consists of two engineers. We work (mostly) in ruby on the back-end. We love git, cloud hosting and automation. We use Ubuntu, Ruby on Rails, Sinatra, MySQL and MongoDB. You should be a quick and eager to learn (and to teach). We strongly prefer New York City-based candidates (to work in our Soho office), but might consider remote workers in some circumstances. No agencies or recruiters, please.
